So much for being productive! (Feelin BLAH!)

Well I was going to add my devotional for the day from my favorite book 'The book for the not so perfect mom' -- But the book is in the car...which he has with him and is currently at church with the children! Not to mention, I'm too tired and feelin yukie to even try to attempt to add it later on in the evening! Sorry, I am just feeling YUKIE, BLAH, FAT and Pregnant! This will definately be the last one for me, regardless if it is a boy or a girl! I will update later though...and If you don't hear from me it will probably be because I'm still in my first trimester and still feeling, tired, run down listless (anyone have some Vitameataveggiman??). I'm sure I'll be back during my second or third trimester and hopfully feeling better...possibly!

A Father Daughter Dance

Hi All,

I have to add the latest event which was the Father Daughter dance. We were invited by my SIL, as the school putting on the dance was my neices'. We decided to go as this would be a nice event (and appreciate the invite) to take the girls to and daddy could possibly enjoy. Well, heck we don't care what daddy likes right, his vote doesn't count...he's already out numbered!! HA!
Anyway..This was a nice night, however, the sad part was the innocence of this night was taken by several things...well, only one...Worldly things! I saw girls with dresses equivelant to prom dresses and the girls ages ranged from 4-13. What happened to simplicity of the young. Make up, professionally done updos, heels...really? Then Mr. Dj was playing inappropriate music...like the Pussycat dolls, 'Beep' song. Maybe I am just old and traditional or maybe this is a sign of the times but it's sad. We are making our kids grow up too fast and teaching them that these things MATTER. Childhood is supposed to be fun, simple and beautiful. Not about WHO has WHAT! I hope I teach my kids the difference and that simplicity is more than likely a better and happier place to be!
Regardless, the DJ finally changed the music and started playing kid friendly songs that my kids actually knew and danced to and had an enjoyable time, however it was iffy there for a while. Below are a few pics.

Day 2 - 'I set the tone'

Today's devotional from the 'NOT-SO-PERFECT' Mom---

'I set the tone in the interations with my child'

"Not right now." "As soon as I finish." "in a minute." My child says mommy minutes are much longer than regular minutes, and she's right. It's easy to feel overwhelmed with my to-do list in hand--folding the laundry, cooking dinner, talking on the phone. My anger and frustration come bubbling up when my child wants my attention and I'm trying to finish just one more thing. Imagine if I called God's name and He replied, "In just a minute." Yes, there are times when we all need to be patient and wait, but am i always asking my child to wait? The to-do list grows every day--and so does my child.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

"I am a Good Mother"

So my husband isn't working too much these days for obvious reasons, however, while he was with the girls running errands the other day he found a book for me, since I am taking up more reading. (especially during my lunch hour at work) I've started reading scripture during that time, as with kids it's sometimes hard to find my own devotional time!
The book is called "I am a Good Mother" a devotional book for the not so perfect mom. I'm going to try to share my favorites with you all! Everyone could use some help right?!

Day 1
"I am the most important influence in my child's life and her lifelong teacher"

--Being a mom can be overwhelming at times. I often question whether I'm doing what's right-giving my child the love, attention, and discipline he/she needs to be successful in school and in life. I need to remember how blessed I am and that God chose me to raise this beautiful child because He knows I'm capable. he knows I'll make some mistakes, but He knows I will be a good mother.

Turn a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Ouchie!

My littlest got her ears pierced on Sunday! Since it was a spur of the moment thing, I completely forgot my camera! Fortunately, I called my sister in law and she came right now and snapped away! Here are a couple of shots of my 1 year olds big day??
