My Trust and His Revelation

I can not even believe 2 years have gone by without an update to this thing….talk about putting it off! Logging in I thought, ‘its only been a year’ but when I realize it has been TWO! GEEZ! I can’t believe it!

Anyhow, lots has happened…my baby boy is now a year old! And there have only been a few changes around these parts…We finally trusted our Lord and Savior and took the leap of faith, and we decided that I would be a stay at home mommy, which I prayed and prayed for since 2001 (when my first was born). Not in my time in God’s time. It’s so funny how the Lord works everything out. In Nov. my husband started a new job! After his company closed its doors at the end of August, he was unemployed for 2 ½ months. Those were the hardest 2 ½ months, however, knowing God had a plan made it better.

How do you know, you ask? Ok, I have to rewind here for a moment to something that happened to me when I was pregnant with #4...There was a time where, my migraines from my pregnancy were horrible, my OB wouldn’t take me off of work because my migraines weren’t a ‘valid’ reason to take me off of work…but I guess prescribing vicotin, and some sort of caffeine pill was ok to give to a pregnant woman?? Especially one that hates taking pain pills and ESPECIALLY when pregnant. I knew working in front of a computer screen and the florescent lights glaring from above my cubicle were making my migraines SO much worse.
But anyway, that entire beginning of my 2nd trimester was horrible especially dealing with doctors who really didn’t care. One afternoon when I was driving home from work, I was thinking and praying SO hard in my quiet car on my ride home, and I was worried…then, all of a sudden, I got my answer and it was CLEAR as DAY! As I was following my usual route to get on the freeway and continue home, I made my usual right turn and noticed an old school white ice cream truck, however this one did not have any markings or stickers on it. It was just white, rusty and old. As this truck pulled ahead of me on my right side, I didn’t think anything of it, until something on the back of that truck caught my attention. When I sped up a little I couldn’t believe my eyes! I immediately started crying! On the back of this old, white, rusty ice cream truck there were big black letters (stuck on individually) said, ‘Everything Is Going to be OK.’
Really?!? What are the odds, I‘m praying so hard, thinking and worrying and all of a sudden I see this?? ….its because there are no ‘ODDS’! God has a perfect time for EVERYTHING. Sobbing, I looked up and just felt peace, and my trust in God at that point grew so much more after that afternoon. And I was so certain that everything was going to be ok because God was handling it and I needed not to worry. And ever since then not only do I think of these verses, Philippians 4:6 Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be make known to God. Psalms 62:2 He alone is my Rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know what I have planned for you says the Lord , I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope. In addition to these verses I always remember the little reminder that the Lord gave to me on the old white rusty truck… So dealing with my husband’s unemployment I knew the Lord had something better for us just waiting for the perfect moment. God knows how much we can take, he wants us to rely on him FULLY and not on ourselves!

Funny now I know why he picked this time for me to be a stay at home mommy….first and foremost I needed to trust in my Lord and Savior more, I would have been a worried mess and my husband and I would have split because of money. Second, I needed to learn to nail down multitasking because obviously I didn’t know I was going to have 4 kids and I would have to master this talent! And third I was going to need to be there for my sister and her family as she and her husband go thru their trying time. I was going to need to be available to, research, email, call, fax, scan, to help get answers to the critical items she needed that she could not do at work, which also included babysitting! J Jesus has a perfect time for everything and I am so blessed and so rewarded by Him! You can check out her blog for the latest regarding Cisco go to http://with-bold-faith.blogspot.com.

I look forward as to where the Lord will lead me and my family next! Homeschooling, maybe? Hmm? Something to think about definitely NOTHING to worry about!

I’ll end with this, The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.
Till next time bloggers!

Here are a few recent photos of our gang

DEC 09............

We first acquired the membership of the Pregnant Women club which consists of the experiences of going through your pregnancies and all the different things women and their husbands go thru during those wonderful 3 trimesters! Throwing up, strange cravings, not only growing a baby bump but a little extra too., back aches, feet and hand swelling, sleeping with all kinds of pillows and the fun of buying BIG clothes!

Then came the membership to the Girls club which the members speak about how to get through the drama of having GIRLS! Sugar and Spice and everything….Nice? Hmm? I’ll rethink that one.

However, once you have a child that automatically enrolls you in the Kids Club. This membership is about the general things like crying, screaming, tantrums, whining, spitting up, sleepless nights, potty training, first steps, first foods, explosive poops and projectile vomiting, and waking up before the roosters crow. Then there are the more advanced memberships that consist of talking back, taking privileges away, homework, endless video gaming and computer playing, texting, phoning.

I’ve only heard about the senior membership, but I’m not a member of that yet.

Then we have the boys club…which I have just enrolled in. I am only in the beginner members group and have only gotten as far as target urination.

Our little guy arrived December 15th at 1:01 am and weighed in at 9lbs 15oz and 22 ½ inches long! So they say every baby is different and I agree to a certain extent…because all my children came the same (delivered different but came the same) contractions, progress, pushing…baby. All three of my pregnancies were the same EXCEPT number 4. He made me experience a first…my water breaking. It was funny…well funny in the sense that my husband was in a panic and really, entertainment for me because this was a whole new ball game! As we got comfortable to watch a movie I heard a snap and then instant pain, once we figured out that my water broke he rushed to get #3 to my parents (thankfully they already had #1 and #2) but I have never seen my husband panic like he did that night. (and we thought we had this one in the bag…HA!). As I was in the restroom slowly moving, all I could hear was the thumping around in my bedroom, in my daughter’s room, the stairs, and then screeching of his tennis shoes on my downstairs flooring. When I finally got down stairs he had come back from literally throwing #3 at my parents house. Since my husband is cool, calm and collected 98% of the time, I had never really seen the other 3% and I have to say it was HILARIOUS…I was trying not to laugh to hard for obvious reasons but could not help it. Needless to say we got to the hospital in time.
The arrival of my son was another interesting scenario. During my sporadic and relatively mild contractions the nurse comes in and grabs this knob looking thing and touches it to my belly. When this gadget touched my belly it sent off a vibration which in turn jolted my son…she did this twice. I asked what the heck she was doing? She replied with ’Your baby was asleep we had to wake him’ at this point it totally made sense and I realized this came full circle, I was going to give birth to my husband…remember that, calm, cool and collected husband I mentioned above…ya, just like daddy! But I didn’t think it would start so early! My baby boy whom is supposed to be helping his Mama’s body get him out is sleeping on the job. The most important day of his life, his debut and HE’S SLEEPING!!! Should I be surprised!? Well thank goodness for that gadget. After that everything was a breeze!
We are so happy with our little guy, he is such a blessing and such a good boy and I can’t say that enough! Because of him I would consider having another child, however, since I have children before him I am willing to refrain from it! When I say he is a good boy, I mean it! This little guy only cries when he is hungry, period…no whining, no screaming, nothing…not a peep! He is so EASY!!!! Even with screaming kids in the background, he is peaceful and quiet! PERFECT! And such a blessing in every way!!!

That was our fun for the first part of December. The latter part of December, of coarse is Christmas but not only did we have Christmas and a new son, but we had my brother and sister in law out here from Oklahoma. My husband loves having his brother here…they act like children, but that is totally ok, I enjoy the way they play around with each other, making up for lost time, if you will. Plus, with all these girls in the house my husband feels more of a manly man with more testosterone around! They were out for 2 weeks. Hanging out, playing video games…the cousins played Wii for the most part. And Laurie was nice enough to make her famous delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies. You know, I don’t favor chocolate chip cookies at all, but I love hers!!
Two weeks rapidly approached, its always hard to say bye after we had such a good time. But I love that we can just pick up where we left off. My brother in law graduates law school in May so my husband will be going out to Ok then. He is really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the kids and I will not be going, too much money, and too much hassle with 2 kids under 3 years of age, so we opted to have at least one representative from our familia attend.
After the birth of our little guy, the holidays, the visitors. I needed to a change…(this has happens with me during postpartum) I decided to chop off my hair. It had grown so long and all I was doing was putting it up in a pony tail. (plus its easier than loosing weight!) So my daughter and I who also had very long hair decided to donate our hair to Locks of Love…we had grown it to 10 inches which is the minimum. Can I tell you, I love short hair! No more tangles, no more hassles, no more running out of conditioner in a week! And best of all no more whining about hair washing day!!! Thank goodness my daughter was open to it and I think best of all she knows where her hair is going and that it is actually helping someone else! But when I got home…#2 kept asking when it was her turn to cut her hair and continued to ask everyday until it reached 10 inches….When we went in to finally cut her hair, its was because I was more fed up than anything of her constant whining of how her sister got to cut her hair and she didn’t! UGH! So I asked the stylist to cut higher so I could meet the 10inch requirement…So #2 got an A line cut! I was excited that this day finally arrived because her hair is literally a lions mane, thick, coarse and semi-wavy (prone to tangles and lots of them!)
